About Us

jobcymru and jobcymru.com are Menter a Busnes projects.

To those who are already aware of Menter a Busnes’ work, jobcymru is the new Gorwelion. Jobcymru aims to increase the number of Welsh-speakers wishing to work in sectors where there is a need for bilingual skills by offering information on essential skills, job and training opportunities in the local and national labour market. The demand for bilingual skills is increasing, however, it is not always easy to recruit people with the right skills and this is where jobcymru can help.

The Swyddiadur/Jobs Directory is one of jobcymru’s main projects. So far, 8 Jobs Directories have been produced – in Anglesey, Gwynedd, Ceredigion, Powys, Pembrokeshire, Carmarthenshire, Llanelli and Taff-Ely. Each Jobs Directory is a file containing a sample of an area’s employers, with extensive information on each employer. They are used, in conjunction with the Jobs Directory Tasks - a series of classroom lessons for teachers, in secondary schools as part of the careers education programme. The database on this website is based on the Jobs Directories – and forms the Jobs Directory on the Internet. Should you wish to have further information on the Jobs Directory or the Jobs Directory Tasks, e-mail jobcymru at contactus@jobcymru.com
